Vocollect Voice in Replenishment and Put-Away
Workflows such as replenishment and put-away often use the same type of vehicle; Vocollect Voice can interleave these tasks to provide more efficient worker utilization.
For instance, the Vocollect Vehicle Mount Talkman (VMT) Solution mounts the Talkman A500 mobile computing appliance on a forklift or pallet jack, drawing power from the vehicle and allowing the worker to wear only an SRX wireless headset.
Then, with interleaved processes, the WMS can direct a driver who has just completed a put-away assignment to replenish a pick slot on a return trip – helping to reduce "dead-heading."
Likewise, the WMS can assign the next-closest replenishment or put-away work unit to operators, further reducing dead-head travel time. By interleaving these two workflows, the number of vehicles and drivers can be reduced by 20%-25%.
