WWAN Coverage Survey

Helps with customer selection of carriers and service plans by confirming common carrier WWAN coverage for your data collection and voice-capable Intermec device along a delineated route, at discreet point locations, or within a campus or other defined space such as an airport.

Service Overview

  • Signal Strength
  • Latency
  • Throughput
  • Roundtrip

Intermec Professional Services technicians can perform a WWAN Coverage Survey by testing the specified Intermec data collection devices under the same data transmission and receiving conditions – including time of day – facing your field service or delivery personnel. Using your requirements for data and voice performance, we can test for signal strength, throughput, latency and roundtrip speed. The Intermec WWAN Coverage Survey report confirms coverage within a defined area or at points along a specified route, and helps customers choose optimal combinations of carriers and service plans. The WWAN Coverage Survey also helps to identify holes in campus or confined yards coverage. Intermec technicians are prepared to recommend possible strategies for overcoming these weak spots, including the selection and placement of in-premise signal propagators.

Although a WWAN Coverage Survey can help determine carrier signal strength and quality, it only provides a snapshot of time, at specific points in a confined area or along a defined route, and should not be considered as a definitive characterization of carrier service over extended time, or at every combination of location coordinates within that area or along that route.
