Certainly, there's no question that Intermec devices are tough. But when the need for repairs may arise, trust Intermec devices to Intermec authorized repair centers – available in over 70 countries around the world. Occasionally, Intermec customers may decline to cover their data collection devices with Medallion® Service Contracts. If a customer has declined coverage, or if the customer's equipment is not eligible for Medallion Service Contract coverage, Intermec does offer other industry-leading repair alternatives. Intermec offers competitive flat rate pricing to cover the majority of common repair needs, but may also offer time and materials pricing for low-cost repairs or to cover other contingencies, at Intermec's sole discretion.
How it Works
For repairs not covered by a service contract, Flat Rate Repair provides the convenience of one price for repair of a device, no matter what is actually in need of service. Flat Rate Repair pricing helps customers avoid the time-consuming hassles of the estimation and approval processes associated with Time and Materials Repair. Under Flat Rate Repair, the customer will incur the flat rate charge each time the device comes in for a new repair. There are certain exclusions to Flat Rate Repair which may or may not be covered under Time and Materials Repair policies. Intermec will make every effort to return a device serviced under Flat Rate Repair within 15 business days from the first full business day after it was received at our service facility.Under normal conditions, Intermec supports a product for a minimum of 3 years, though typically longer, after product retirement. Intermec's ability to continue support after the initial three year period is dependent upon availability of spare parts and vendor obsolescence issues that are beyond Intermec's control.
When outside of the USA, a combination of direct and in-direct, authorized Intermec repair centers provide the same standard of quality service in over 70 countries throughout the world. This will ensure that the repairs are performed properly, using only factory designed and authorized test fixtures, authorized parts and certified personnel employed directly, or trained by Intermec. Who knows its own products better than the manufacturer?
