Flexibility for Free

Honeywell’s HTML5 browser provides developers with an easy way to run cross-platform applications on a selection of Honeywell’s enterprise-class rugged mobile computers without license fees or license activation requirements. HTML5 applications that run on consumer-grade smartphones and tablets can now also be run on selected Honeywell rugged mobile computerswithout changes or rewrites.

Now enterprises will gain the flexibility to equip their mobile workers with a modern user interface and latest business logicalong withthe right device for their specific working conditions and usage demands, and award-wining service and support, whether it’s a sleek smart phone or a rugged mobile computer.

Honeywell’s HTML5 Browser is functionally equivalent to the browsers found today on Android and iOS smartphones. And unlike some competitors' HTML5 offerings, Honeywell’s HTML5 Browser includes a true web browser application that provides a URL bar, browsing history, favorites list and other elements common to typical web browsers.

Improved Workflow Efficiency

HTML5 is much more than the next iteration of web language. It extends the web paradigm to a whole new class of applications - those that must execute locally on the device, even when not connected to the Web. Honeywell’s HTML5 Browser supports applications designed to run on-line (connected to the web server), off-line (no connection to the web server) or a combination of the two.

Data can be stored locally on the device until synchronization with the back-end server is available, eliminating time lost due to spotty cellular coverage. Transactional data can be updated quickly with minimal overhead making workflows more responsive.

Ease of Use

User interface design can take advantage of powerful new drawing tools to create a familiar look and feel to that of smartphones and tablets.

Just like the browsers on iOS and Android smartphones, there are no license fees required to run HTML5 Browser on Honeywell mobile computers.

HTML5 Browser can be downloaded and installed on CK3R, CK3X, CK70, CK71, CN51, CN70, Cn70e, CS40, CN50 (WEH6.5), CV31, CV41, D70e, D7800, D99EX, VM1(WinCE 6.0) and VM2 (WinCE 6.0) models.  There are no license fees or license activation requirements for the downloaded browser.

Providing a Path to the Future

HTML5, JavaScript™ and CSS3 provide enterprises with a means to shield their software development efforts from the uncertainties of future operating system roadmaps. By porting applications to HTML5, or developing new applications using HTML5, programmers are able to create a single code base that will run on Windows Mobile, Android and iOS.

If you're currently developing, or intend to develop, applications to run on both enterprise and consumer-grade mobile devices, Honeywell’s HTML5 Browser will give you an open platform, free of charge, in which to run your application.
